Hangu (hangu.app) is a real-time social platform designed to help people connect spontaneously for everyday offline activities — grabbing a coffee, working out, walking in the park, enjoying a beer, or coworking.

In an increasingly digital world, meeting people spontaneously in real life has become harder than ever. Most social apps either focus on high-pressure romantic dating or asynchronous text forums. Hangu was created to bridge this gap: a simple, gender-neutral, and pressure-free way to find someone nearby who is free to hang out right now.

2. Privacy by Design: Zero Geolocation Leakage

We believe location-based discovery should never compromise your personal safety or privacy. Hangu guarantees that your raw geographic coordinates (latitude and longitude) are never shared with, displayed to, or accessible by other users or third parties. Distances are computed securely inside our database and rounded according to your distance visibility preferences (exact 100m, approximate kilometer, or completely hidden).

3. Community Safety & AI Moderation

Hangu is strictly free of sexualized content. We utilize Google Gemini AI models to moderate profile images and chat media in real time, ensuring verified human faces on avatars and shielding our community from inappropriate or unsolicited content. Users have full control with one-tap blocking, reporting, and disappearing view-once photos.
